How it works
Margin is profit relative to the selling price. A €100 product with €40 profit has a 40% margin.
Markup is profit relative to cost. The same product costing €60 has a 66.67% markup.
Add ecommerce costs to see your real profit per order instead of just the product margin.
FAQ
Margin divides profit by the selling price; markup divides profit by the cost. With €60 cost and a €100 price, margin is 40% and markup is 66.67%. Margin can never reach 100%; markup can.
